File sharing is now an officially accepted religion under “Missionary Church of Kopimism” in Sweden – the land of the new age “pirates”.
Sweden is where the notorious “pirate bay” is from. Sweden is where the first ever official political “pirate party” movement is from. And now, to freely and openly share files and data, they are practically exploiting the “freedom of religion” right with their new “religion”.
I don’t know what you have been reading or been told about “piracy” by your government officials but in the online world so-called “piracy” is where it all began for the “open source” spirit. As we support all open source projects and all new economic models that has been born after “piracy” became so mainstream, this is actually good news for the future of the internet. For sure some people or companies are going to get hit during this transition but the future will be saved for everyone (including the artists, developers and small-medium sized production companies). We just have to hang in there for a while until the new “eco(nomic)-system” of internet is fully established.
